South LA Folk Art Bike Ride Saturday June 4

Testing the Expo Line this week, do not ride bikes on the tracks

 

A three-car train will be tested on the new Expo Rail Line this week on the tracks from Vermont Avenue to National Boulevard from 5 to 10 p.m. today through Thursday, according to Stacy S. Yamato of Metro.

 

The train will stop at all intersections and flaggers will be present.

Expo Line Lives; Light Rail Train takes to the tracks in University Park



The Expo Line light rail won’t begin service until the fall, but the track likely will be sporting some vehicles by the end of March. So the message is safety first.



Vehicles will be testing the track, clearances and the safety devices from Flower Street at Jefferson Boulevard onto Exposition Boulevard south of the USC University Park campus, according to Jose Ubaldo of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Neighborhood council and DA office win six-year fight to close recycling center in West Adams

*Editor's note: I have to give props to the intrepid and persistent Leslie Evans, the chair of the Public Safety Commission for the North Area Neighborhood Development Council.
