Place your Christmas tree on the curb, the City of LA picks it up

Keep your community beautiful - recycle that Christmas tree. It's easy - please tell your neighbors how easy.

You can place the tree on the curb and it will be picked up with the regular trash! Ain't that great.

Call the City of Los Angeles Christmas Tree Recycling Hotline: (800) 5-TREE-56 for information about recycling in your neighborhood.

Thanks Jacqueline! I was getting asked if it was too late - I guess not.

The city is about a week behind in collecting trees.  According to the folks at 311 and the Bureau of Sanitation, they didn't have enough trucks to travel all of the streets with trash day on any given day during the past few  weekends, which were peak for households putting out their trees.  They are catching up now, and hope to have collected all trees by the current week's pick-up day.  REMEMBER that they will NOT pick up FLOCKED trees.   Those have to be put into the regular trash bin.
