USC Supplier Diversity and Local Vendor Program

The Department of Supplier Diversity Services fosters economic growth in California through campus use of businesses owned by minorities, women, and veterans, and small local businesses in the communities surrounding USC's campuses.

Diverse Supplier Goals for USC
USC has a goal to procure 15% of all purchases, regardless of source of funds, from Diverse Suppliers. To reach this goal, Supplier Diversity Services:

Pre-qualifies, recruits, and trains Diverse Suppliers
Improves accessiblity to and awareness of Diverse Suppliers throughout USC
Provides orientation to USC, "How to do Business with USC"
Recognizes USC departments for outstanding use of Diverse Suppliers

A little about me:
Rhonda Thornton serves as director for the universities Small Business Diversity Office, SBDO. The SBDO administers Supplier Diversity, Government Subcontract Plans and the Local Vendor Program. The SBDO supports the inclusion of diverse suppliers within contracts, projects and purchases at USC. The SBDO works within Business Services Procurement to connect university procurement opportunities to small local, minority, women, or veteran businesses. The department advocates for the universities goal to purchase 15% of all spend from diverse or small local USC businessess. www.usc.edu/supplierdiversity

Senator Price will be hosting the fourth in a series of town hall meetings held throughout the 26th Senate District to discuss the state’s most pressing policy and budgetary issues. The public is encouraged to attend this meeting in order to become better informed on issues relating to the state budget, healthcare, senior issues, education, and pending 2010 legislation.
