The
celebrated LA Marathon is coming to town on Memorial Day Monday.
It
looks like the roads will be clear somewhat by 10 a.m. Until then, much of Figueroa, Olympic, Exposition Arlington, Leimert, Crenshaw and many other streets out of our area will make way for the race. NOTE: Adobe file that can be magnified is attached.
Check out
the spectator guide on what to do during the race. "Our Entertainment Centers are pop-up neighborhood street festivals all along the route. Many of them have an ethnic flavor depending on the neighborhood, and all of them are sure to be great places to watch the spectacle that is the LA Marathon." There's one at Expo and Crenshaw and another at Menlo and King.
Live race day tracking.
Head head over to the
L.A Marathon’s popular Finish Line Festival for music, food and fun. This all day event takes place at 3rd and Flower streets where you can hear a live broadcast of the Marathon. Several bands begin rocking the streets and creating a real party atmosphere. The Festival draws more than 100,000 people annually.
