Perfect for the whole family! Over 20 music ensembles, choirs and dance companies from the many neighborhoods and cultures of the region celebrate the season during this free three-hour holiday show. Highlights of this year’s Holiday Celebration include Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet Company with a folklórico dance from the region of Tabasco, Mexico; the Harmonic Bronze Handbell Ensemble, which will perform a classical handbell piece that celebrates Christmas and Hanukkah; holiday songs sung by the Palmdale High School Choral Union and Sunday Night Singers; the Southern California Brass Consortium, a 26-member brass ensemble from California State University of Long Beach; Grammy-nominated ragtime, Dixieland blues and early swing band California Feetwarmers, who will perform holiday favorites; Cuba L.A. performing Latin jazz renditions of holiday standards; Filipino dance company Kayamanan Ng Lahi with festive dances from the provincial lowland/coastal region of the Philippines; the 32-member Los Angeles Chamber Choir, which will sing the 16th century advent hymn “Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming”; QVLN (Q-Violin), bringing his “Brazil meets Jimi Hendrix on an electric violin” stylings to perform an upbeat Latin fusion of the Christmas classic “Little Drummer Boy”; Las Colibrí (“The Hummingbirds”), an all-female mariachi ensemble, performing innovative interpretations of traditional sones, huapangos and rancheras that incorporate sounds of jazz, rock, oldies and R&B; and more. Watch it live on PBS SoCal KOCE and pbssocal.org on Dec. 24 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. and again from 9 p.m. – midnight and Dec. 25 at noon.
