Augustus Hawkins Nature Park in South Los Angeles

The 9-acre park, years in the making, recently opened on a former bus parking lot. Now covered with hills, trails and a lake, this wetlands provides an important respite not only for birds and wildlife, but nearby South L.A. residents.
