Registration Drive 2010 a success for University Park Family

To celebrate the founding of UniversityParkFamily.com one year ago, we asked our community members to invite
their friends and neighbors to participate in the conversation.

And they did.

This April UniversityParkFamily.com had record traffic – best month and best single day - as 29 more people stood up to say they are proud of their neighborhood, bring the number of members to more than 300!

We also reached out to our sister institutions and local businesses to reward our current members for spreading the word about UnviersityParkFamily.com.

Our grand prize - a membership pack to the California Science Center - goes to Jacqueline Hamilton of ECCLA. A membership to the California Science Center  includes vouchers for free parking and free IMAX tickets, in addition to Ecosystems, a new giant aquarium and several new exhibits (ALL FREE).

Bridgette Kidd, who holds two jobs as Kid Watch program coordinator and ECCLA operations manager, takes the $30 gift certificate from Bacaro LA Wine Bar. Bacaro, which was opened two years ago by USC students, is now a vital part of the thriving Hoover-Union Triangle.

Several neighbors also won Starbucks mugs thanks to Jim, the manager of the coffee shop on Hoover and Jefferson.

This is the Starbucks co-owned with Magic Johnson and Urban Coffee Opportunities. Now you can now get Starbucks frappuccinos made with any kind of milk, including soy and low fat.

Coffee mug winners include Eric Inouye of the LA Child Guidance Clinic, Erica at El Centro del Pueblo and Children's Hospital, Living Advantage, Meropi Peponides of 24th Street Theatre, Courtney Woods of CLBC, USC psychology student Emine Satire, Suzanne Wu of USC Media Relations, Maya Meinert who runs @uscedu on Twitter and Kathy Diaz of USC Community Relations.

And special thanks goes to the 24th Street Theater, which provided backstage passes for their April shows.
