Angelus Plaza presents its Annual Latin American Heritage Festival ~
The celebration will be held in the in the fourth floor auditorium.* (Location Update) "back-in the Hill Street Courtyard Yeah!" - O-!
Louie Cruz Beltran, a charismatic entertainer and gifted percussionist, will feature his rousing rhythms. Louie’s major influences include, Mexican and West Indian folk music, Gospel, Contemporary R&B, Salsa and the Great American Songbook. Mr. Beltran has performed with Ray Barretto, Mongo Santamaria, Tito Puente, Francisco Aquabella, Poncho Sanchez, Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and Smokey Robinson, among others.
During intermission, master dance instructor Don Russell, will also facilitate a brief Salsa demonstration. He will inspire the audience to join him, near the stage.
This festive celebration is sponsored by the Angelus Plaza Senior Activity Center, the Latin American Club and L.A. City Councilman José Huizar, of the 14th District. Admission is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Bring your dancing shoes and tell a friend.
