"Pianist Satoko Fujii's spontaneous, heartbending trio with trumpeter Kappa Maki and drummer Yoshi Shutto would have been enough to merit a strong recommendation. But then I went, "Who are Silverscreen Sextet"? Well, they're cornetist Bobby Bradford, windman Vinny Golia, tuba player William Roper, windman Hafez Modirzadeh (each of whom I would have given a strong separate recommendation), playing the compositions of Bay Area drummer Vijay Anderson, with video by Tim Hicks, that's all.
