Headless Halloween and Deadly Dia De Los Muertos events in University Park and Expo Park neighborhoods

There are dozens of free, spooky and safe events in the around USC. Most of the schools in the area have costume parades and contests. The students at St. Vincent's Catholic School celebrate All Saints Day instead and the kids dress up as their favorite saint.

CAAM in Exposition Park one of top 5 black history museums in America

The Washington Times put the California African-American Museum in Exposition Park at the top of the list.



The museum opened during the 1984 Olympic Games and has undergone a major remodeling. It has 19th-century landscapes, modern paintings from the Harlem Renaissance and memorabilia from the estate of Tom Bradley, the only black mayor of Los Angeles. Mabuhay Festival celebrates Filipino-American cutlure

The 3rd Annual Mabuhay Festival is from 3pm-8pm, Saturday, Oct. 10, at McCarthy Quad on the USC campus to celebrate Pilipino American Heritage month.



Hosted by USC Troy Philippines, the Mabuhay Festival raises funds for "a God-centered, model microfinance nonprofit organizational charity" in the Philippines.
