Event Description

We are so excited, and ready to laugh out loud, because Storyteller Antonio Sacre is returning to the IMA for the third year with his new show, “The Storyteller”. Born in Boston to a Cuban father and Irish-American mother, Antonio's hilarious stories are drawn from growing up bilingual and bicultural as a Cuban-Irish-American. With humor, (he calls himself a Leprechauno), he blends two cultures and four unbelievable stories into one compelling narrative about what it means to be paid to "lie" for a living, and how it feels to be "only the 10th best storyteller" in his family. In this new concert you will hear stories that are as funny as they are touching. You might even need a tissue!
Antonio's shows have garnered numerous Critics’ Choices in San Francisco, LA, New York, and Chicago. His last New York Fringe offering was called by Backstage “exquisite…one of the most skillful and satisfying performances of the year.” The Village Voice calls Antonio “Remarkable . . . a serious artist” and Backstage says Antonio is “powerful, hilariously honest . . . the man is an out and out genius.” Called “a charismatic, empathetic presence” by Chicago Tribune, Antonio's stories have appeared in numerous magazines, journals, and on National Public Radio. Now we have him back!
You can buy tickets to the show online: https://sacrethestoryteller.eventbrite.com , or by visiting our website: http://www.imalosangeles.com . You may also pay by cash, check or credit card, at the IMA office, while supplies last. As is our custom at the Institute of Musical Arts, a catered reception will follow the performance.
Ours is a small, intimate theater, and we do expect a robust response. So please do not delay in purchasing your tickets. Tickets for the performance are $20.00.
