About Us:

The USC CCC is a non-profit community outreach program that offers low-cost, bilingual computing classes to members of our local community, particularly parents of the USC Family of Schools.  One of the CCC’s offerings is a Computer Basics course that awards participants with a Certificate of Completion issued by USC and a refurbished computer, at no additional cost, upon successful completion of the program.  Our mission here at the CCC is to bridge the digital divide found in low-income households by providing not only the programs that instill the knowledge on how to best use resources like the Internet and commonly used productivity applications, but to also provide the means that will allow our students to continue to practice and master those lessons that they have learned in their home.  With a computer available in the home, a luxury many of us take for granted, these individuals now not only have the opportunity to continue honing their own skills, but to also help their children with their homework; create professional resumes and documents in seeking out employment and new career opportunities; and serve as teachers, themselves, to their respective families and friends. The computers that are awarded to our students have been donated by generous individuals and organizations for thorough refurbishment and redeployment in our program. This is a wonderful program that allows us to assist deserving members of our community while also providing a service that helps minimize e-waste.
