Thurs August 25th – Summer Garden Intern Graduation, Live Music and Delicious Bites – 4.30pm to 7.30pm

CSU invites you to stop by the EXPO garden on this late summer evening and help us celebrate the graduation of this summer’s From The Ground Up interns. Experience the EXPO Mini Farm in full summer splendor and taste delicious offerings made with fresh produce straight from the farm. Meet our graduating summer interns and hear and see what they have learned as you are treated to live music from Ned Boyer,
harmonica/recorder, Susan Platz, fiddle, Marie Bruno, guitar.

:: Sun August 28th – EXPO mini-farm gathering for a Fair Farm Bill – 3pm to 5pm – with Food and Water Watch and the Food and Freedom Riders

Join CSU as we host a reception for folks from Food and Water Watch. Live Real and others, who have been traveling across the country to build support for a fair farm bill and food system. The event will feature brief presentations about these road trips and the work of these organizations and how what we do in South LA fits into this bigger picture. In addition, Solomon, CSU From the Ground Up intern who recently attended Rooted In Community, a gathering of youth of color from around the country, will present the Youth Food Bill of Rights that emerged from that national conference. In addition, CSU will serve drinks and snacks featuring local produce, so please join us to receive these weary travelers and give them a wonderful welcome to LA.
