For the USC and Exposition Park neighborhoods in Los Angeles
USC neighborhood students entering the ninth grade are encouraged to attend an orientation session to see if the innovative Hybrid High is the right place to prepare them for life, according to USC.
Developed by the USC Rossier School of Education, Hybrid High blends personalized instruction with digital coursework. Hybrid High will offer year-round access up to 12 hours per day, seven days a week for students who care for family members, work full or part-time jobs or who need additional time to succeed.
The orientation sessions are on the USC campus in Waite Phillips Hall 403 at 5:30 p.m. on June 12, June 26, July 10 and July 24. For more information, call (213) 740-6958 or visit uschybridhigh.org.
USC Hybrid High School is scheduled to open on September 4 in downtown Los Angeles at 350 S. Figueroa St.
According to “Closing the Graduation Gap,” a 2009 report in Education Week, one-third of the students drop out reportedly because of jobs or caring for family members.University Park Family is the news and social network for the neighborhoods around USC and Expo Park. Stay informed. Join now!
