Jazz in Leimert and then Fireworks in Expo Park on the Fourth of July

Celebrate our country's birthday right!

I've seen fireworks from the Colorado St. bridge in Pasadena for the Rose Bowl show, from the deck of a home in the Palos Verdes hills to see Carson's Home Depot
and San Pedro's Queen Mary, from Ballona Creek for Culver City and
from the new Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook for a 360 degree view (and it was fantastic).

Still nothing beats laying back on a blanket in Christmas Tree Lane
Outside the Coliseum and seeing that spectacular show go off directly
above your head. Get there early, bring a picnic and a blanket.

You'll leave with the memory of a lifetime and ash all over your clothes.

SUNDAY JULY 4TH 1PM-5PM

"4TH OF JULY JAZZ FESTIVAL"
Leimert Park Vision Theatre Back Lot
3341 W. 43rd Pl. Los Angeles, Ca 90008

7PM-11PM.

"4TH OF JULY MEMORIAL COLISEUM FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA"
Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
3911 S. Figueroa St. Los Angeles, Ca 90037
FIREWORKS BEGIN AT 9PM .

Councilman Bernard Parks of the 8th District, and the City of Los Angeles
Department of Cultural Affairs team up to present the 8th Annual
Fireworks Extravaganza.

Kicking off this free event, KJLH will be providing music beginning at 5pm from
a stage located at the east side of Christmas Tree Lane, which is
situated just east of the Coliseum.

The best vantage point to catch this world-class show will be at the east end of Christmas Tree
Lane, as well as at the South Lawn, which is just to the north of the
Coliseum, between the Coliseum itself and the Natural History Museum.

Parking for this event will also be free. Those that will be travelling by car
are encouraged to enter Exposition Park at Martin Luther King, jr. Blvd
and Hoover. But ride your bike or take the bus to beat the traffic jam.

Free show, free parking - hard to beat that!! Bring your lawn chair and come on out!
