For the USC and Exposition Park neighborhoods in Los Angeles
Mount St. Mary's College is hosting a girl's science and mathematics conference for girls in
grades 5 - 8 to inform them about careers in the sciences with hands-on workshops. The event is April 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
In the past, workshops have ranged from dissecting pig hearts, to color chemistry experiments, to making "asphalt" with chocolate.
There are also spaces for parents, teachers, and counselors to join.
There is a $10 registration fee, and only the first 200 girls and first 50 adults to apply are
eligible.
Check out their website at www.expandingyourhorizonsla.org for information and a great list of FAQ's.
Call 310-954-4015 for more information as well.
