CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION
LEST WE FORGET: FROM THE CIVIL WAR TO CIVIL RIGHTS
Contest Theme: Participation requires the creation of an original written work inspired by the contest theme/topic and is open to all youth in grades 6-12 within Los Angeles County.
Guidelines for Entry:
• Creative writing must be an original work in the form of a poem, song, story,
essay, etc., and not previously published.
• Entry MUST be typed on MS Word Document or on paper, not exceeding one page.
• Judging is based on creativity, originality, clarity of the writing, and incorporation of the theme.
Only one entry per participant.
