Los Angeles Lakers Parade

The magnet that is a championship trophy drew the gold and purple jerseys walking from all directions toward University Park and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Exposition Park.



Call me a skeptic. I just didn't think it would be that bad. But I rode my bike from Leimert Park to work just in case.

Local students take home prize in national webite competition

Students from Manual Arts in Exposition Park, Central City Value, Loyola High School and 32nd Street (USC-MAST) in University Park took home a laptop computer for the website they created "Amazonia: Endangered Beauty."

Fast Food Ban in South Los Angeles: Study says the restaurants lead to obesity (duh)

A decade-long study of thousands found that students whose schools are within a block of a fast-food outlet are more likely to be obese than students whose schools are a quarter of a mile or more away.

Time for the next generation to lead - Applications due April 13

The 27th Annual Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project Summer Conference is looking for leaders - no GPA requirement and no money required.

Biz Schools takes to the Street on Community Service Day

More than 116 USC students, faculty and staff painted over graffiti, removed trash from an alley and pulled weeds. Some volunteers worked on arts and crafts projects with youngsters at the Shriners Hospitals and others helped pick up trash at Manhattan Beach.



It was all apart of the second annual Marshall Community Service Day last year.
