March of Dimes Walk for Babies on Saturday, April 30, begins at 39th, Street, east to Hill Street, and then north to Venice Boulevard from 8 AM until 1 PM.

Free shuttles to the LA Times Festival of Books at USC

University parking will be available for $10.00, however, given the anticipated crowd of over 150,000, organizers encourage use of public transportation.

 

USC is also offering free shuttle service from the following locations:

Neighborhood council and DA office win six-year fight to close recycling center in West Adams

*Editor's note: I have to give props to the intrepid and persistent Leslie Evans, the chair of the Public Safety Commission for the North Area Neighborhood Development Council. Though I have only been on the neighborhood council for less than a year, it is clear the neighborhoods around USC, University Park and West Adams are safer and less blighted because of Leslie. Room 13 of Foshay Learning Center featured at the Brewery Art this weekend

USC Health and Science Expo April 15

Between 300 to 400 5th grade students will participate in the three project components Friday, April 15, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m:



1) Develop a class health/science related project, display and/or exhibit.

2) Participate in the one-day Science Fair competition between classes at the USC HSC quad

Expo Line Track Testing Begins Today

USC Transportation has  been advised by Expo that train testing activities are schedules to start this week and continue in the area for the next several months. Testing will take place intermittently along the light rail alignment.
