Contest Theme: Participation requires the creation of an original written work inspired by the contest theme/topic and is open to all youth in grades 6-12 within Los Angeles County.



Guidelines for Entry:

Latino leadership program with the Smithsonian for high school seniors - $2,000 stipend; Apps due April 8

The Smithsonian Latino Center’s 2011 Young Ambassadors Program is a national leadership development program for high school seniors to foster the next generation of Latino leaders in the arts, sciences, and humanities.



Upon completion of the 5-week program, participants will receive a $2,000 program stipend towards their higher education.

Gospel Choir Showcase at USC

On Saturday, February 19, at 4:30 pm, USC will host its 2nd Annual Gospel Choir Showcase.  Choirs from universities and neighboring churches will come and display their talents, with a few special guests to add to the day.

African-American Youth Leadership Program apps due April 1

The Research and Policy Institute of California is seeking applicants for its 2010 African-American Youth Leadership Conference.

The conference will be held: July 24 – July 31, 2010 at CSU Sacramento.
