So you wanna be in pictures? Free course in film, TV and computer animation for South LA students

The New Hope Foundation Film and Art Institute will bring a team of instructors and equipment, including guest industry professionals, on location to youth in their own community to offer classes, free of charge, with industry standard equipment and state of the art technique.

Seven LA high school students will win college scholarships - you could be one of them

You need to be a seniors attending school in Los Angeles County with a minimum 3.0 GPA. You should highlight your commitment to community service and leadership in their school, church and life.



Deadline is March 11.



Applications are available at the Los Angeles Urban League



Nestlé USA and the Los Angeles Urban League will award two seniors with $5,000 college scholarships $5,000 (one male and one female) and $1,000 for five… Continue

Biz Schools takes to the Street on Community Service Day

More than 116 USC students, faculty and staff painted over graffiti, removed trash from an alley and pulled weeds. Some volunteers worked on arts and crafts projects with youngsters at the Shriners Hospitals and others helped pick up trash at Manhattan Beach.



It was all apart of the second annual Marshall Community Service Day last year.
