USC Kid Watch Safety Partners host the Ocotober Kid Watch Training



Kid Watch Safety Task Force Officers hosted the October Kid Watch Training's. Kid Watch members are required to attend two safety trainings a year. These trainings are held at Norwood Elementary, John Mack Elementary and Vermont Elementary. Along with "Basic Kid Watch Rules" members are served dinner.

Kid Watch Events





The Kid Watch program provides safety for children as they walk to and from school. Working closely with schools, Kid Watch also connects with parents at school events such as carnivals, career and resource fairs. The Kid Watch program volunteers provide information about upcoming member events, recruit new parents who live in the community and distribute safety information.…

Kid Watch at USC Family of Schools

Kid Watch is active in the USC Family of Schools throughout the year and continues to encourage students to learn about safety and communicate with officers.



The elementary school students love to have the Los Angeles School Police officers and patrol car visit their school at recess.

Kid Watch and the Community



Kid Watch has over 800 volunteer members that live in the USC community. Being part of Kid Watch builds the sense of community among neighbors who might not otherwise get to know each other. These volunteers provide the eyes and ears on the street that help neighborhood children feel safe as they travel to and from one of the USC Family of Schools.

Kid Watch Committed to Safety and Community





The Kid Watch Picnic held on June 5, 2010 at Founders Park was successful because of the strong commitment from its safety partners. USC DPS takes the lead by arriving early and making sure tables, chairs, balloons and banners are set up.

Every Thursday is take an officer to work day at Kid Watch

This year USC Kid Watch has made it a priority to arrange for police officers from the Los Angeles School Police Department, the Los Angeles Police Department and USC Department of Public Safety to visit a Family of Schools member every week.



The officers spend an hour during recess talking one on one and in groups to more than 300 kids in South Los Angeles.



The students sit in the patrol car, ask questions and take pictures with the officer.
