THE BIG DAY "MAY 16"

It was actually pretty fun.We got to help out many students and inform them about what they should know.We did mostly the same as how we did in the rehearsal.The only problem that there could of been must be the timing.The timing was suppose to be 5-7 minutes but depended because many groups of students interacted with us more so needed more time but some did less so we finish faster.Everyone aleast today was informed of something.At the end we even were fed the NAI program fed all the students… Continue

May 16

On May 16 my peer ambassadors and I met incoming 9th graders. These students will becomming into the NaI program. What we did was get them in groups of nine students. Each of us would give our 5 minute presentation, then ask for questions or comments that they might have. What went pretty well was that the students were very attentive and participative. SoCalCAN Peer Ambassadors: Our First Gig on Saturday

I am with a group called the SoCalCAN Peer Ambassadors. We talk to other students on how to get to college. We had just done our first gig this past Saturday, and I think that it went really well. All of the groups paid attention and learned a lot on how to get to college. One of the students was able to name the A-G Requirements in order. Fast Food Ban in South Los Angeles: Study says the restaurants lead to obesity (duh)

A decade-long study of thousands found that students whose schools are within a block of a fast-food outlet are more likely to be obese than students whose schools are a quarter of a mile or more away.



“Neighborhoods that choose to zone out fast-food restaurants are probably taking a step to protect the future health of their children,” Kelly Brownell, director of the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at Yale University, told the… Continue
