Weemes Students Dream Big at Career Day"What college did you go to?" "Is your job hard?" "How many pages do
you write a day?" "Have you met any famous people?" "Do you get nervous
when you interview people?"

Those were just some of the tough questions Alexis Young fielded from a class of 25 children during the  annual Career Day at Lenicia B. Weemes Elementary School last week, according to Diane Anderson, a writer and editor with University Publications whose story appeared on USC News.

"The kids asked very insightful questions," Young, an editor and writer for USC University Publications, "It was great listening to their career goals and encouraging them to dream
big."

The FBI, the mayor's office, chefs from Le Cordon Bleu and also shared their info about their passions.

"When you ask the students what they want to be, the girls usually say 'a teacher' and the boys say 'a police officer' because that is what they know," said principal Lynn Brown, who is also a member of the University Park F.... “Those professions are
great, but Career Day gives them an opportunity to learn about other
jobs, and they are fascinated.”

Many 1,000 pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students already were thinking big and out of the box, saying they wanted to be doctors for old people, artists, dentists, supermodels, rock stars and video game designer.
